Mia: All right! It’s time to leave for Cheer Camp! Get in the bus now, or we’re leaving you behind! Go, go, go!
The cheerleaders scramble to get into the bus. Mia spots you.
Mia: Hurry up, Danny! You’re a member of the squad now! Come on!
Danny: Yes, ma’am!
A few hours later, you get off the bus at a well-maintained lakeside campground.
Mia: This is SO nice! Look... they even built fake ‘pom’ trees... out of pom-poms!
A perky woman hands Payton a welcome packet full of information.
Payton: Oh wow! Even the welcome packet is bedazzled!
Mia: This is my kind of place!
Danny: Apparently you’re not the only one who feels that way... look how many people showed up! I didn’t even know this many cheerleaders existed in the world!
Payton: No mosquitos. No gross cabins. No hungry bears... this is going to be the best camp ever!
Payton reads through the welcome packet.
Payton: Wow... listen to this. There are going to be workshops on cheering and tumbling... ...and at the end of the week, there’s going to be a huge cheer-off... and the winner get an awesome MYSTERY PRIZE!
Mia: Mystery prizes are my favorite kind of prize!
Danny: Then I guess we’d better win!
Payton: Oh, we will... but now... it’s almost time for the Welcome Banquet!
Danny: Great! After that long bus trip, I’m super hungry!
Payton: Not so fast... before we eat, we have to perform a ‘welcome’ cheer. We’ll need to pick three volunteers to perform!
Requirements
At the banquet, Mia prepares the squad for your welcome cheer.
Mia: Okay, everyone. We’re going classic here. Keep it light, keep it fun.
Uma: Sounds good!
Channing: Yeah! I can’t wait to see what everyone else’s cheers are like!
From across the banquet hall, Kara glares at you.
Danny: Keeping our routine ‘light and fun’ sounds great... but I’ve got a bad feeling that Kara has other things in mind...
Time - 10 hours
The other schools each take their turns performing simple cheers.
Mia: This is fun! Look at all the new styles different teams are using!
Uma: I love how the Belleview Belles added ballet moves into their routine!
Channing: But I’m not sure about the Lincoln Lions’ use of twerking... I’m pretty sure twerking is over.
Finally, it’s your team’s turn to perform.
Mia: Let’s show them our stuff!
As the intro to the music plays, Mia starts off the cheer.
Mia: Who’s the best cheer team around?
Danny: It’s us by far, we’re the best in town!
Mia: I’m Mia, and I lead the troop...
Danny: I’m Danny, and I’m the loudest in the group...
Uma: Uma here...
Channing: ...and Channing as well...
Uma: Listen to us as we yell!
Danny: Go, team, go!
Mia: Go, fight, win!
Mia, Uma, and Channing perform a fun, routine full of coordinated dance moves, jumps, and pom pom shaking!
Danny: Yeah! Good job, everyone!
Kara: Cute little routine, Mia... now why don’t you take a seat and watch some REAL cheerleaders!
The Hearst High team begins their routine. First, Kara does a standing backflip and then performs a series of cartwheels and roundoffs.
Mia: We never did anything this elaborate when I was on the squad... when did she learn to do that?
From there, the routine only gets more and more impressive.
Uma: How are they all jumping so high?
Channing: They can ALL do the splits? I need to stretch more.
As Kara’s team finishes their routine, she walks by you and Mia and shoots you both a smile.
Kara: Consider yourself on notice, Mia. My team is at the top of the pyramid. You guy are on the bottom rung. But I guess you’re used to being on the bottom rung, aren’t you, Mia?
She walks away, smiling as Mia glares at her.
Payton: Don’t let it get to you, Mia. Pyramids don’t even have rungs!
Mia: Thanks, Payton... and I’m not worried. By the end of this week, we’ll be even better than Hearst! Now who wants to eat?
Danny: I think I lost my appetite...
Payton: Maybe it’s good if we don’t eat too much... we’ve got tumbling practice right after the meal!
Danny: Heh. Yeah. It’s definitely a bad idea to do cartwheels on a full stomach...
Requirements
You, Mia, and the other cheerleaders arrive at tumbling practice. Payton greets you.
Payton: I talked with the camp counselor in charge of tumbling. They’ve crated a routine that we’re going to learn and follow.
Mia: Sounds easy enough.
Channing: I’m not so sure about that one...
Channing points to the routine the lead counselor is demonstrating with her assistants. Cheerleaders spin in dizzying circles, cartwheeling and flipping in sync to the music!
Payton: Gulp!
Mia: No! We’ve got this. Let’s just watch them VERY closely...
Time - 12 hours
The routine ends, and your jaw drops.
Danny: Did you get all of that?
Payton: Kind of...
Channing: Nope!
Mia: I’ve got it. Channing, you lead the other cheerleaders on the roundoff-back handspring-back tuck across the floor. Danny, we’re going to do the stunt. You’re going to toss me into the air, got it?
Danny: Yep!
Your cheerleading team is called up to perform the routine. The music starts up! Channing and the other cheerleaders start the routine off!
Channing: Yeah! Go, team!
Mia nods at you.
Danny: Let’s do this! Up you go!
You brace Mia, supporting her as she shoots up into the air! She smiles and waves, but it throws you off balance! You balance! You and Mia hold your positions until Channing and the other cheerleaders have finished tumbling and pose! Everyone watching claps!
Mia: We did it!
Payton returns to your group after getting an evaluation sheet from the counselors.
Payton: The counselors loved the work! They said we had a lot of talent! Great job, guys!
Mia: All right! Let’s make sure we keep this energy up through the end of the week! We’ll show Hearst who’s boss!
Just then, Kara passes your team.
Kara: Trust me, it’s going to take a lot more than a canned routine to beat the best cheerleading team in the district. But it’s always good to reach for the impossible. You’ve really come a long way from being my second-in-command.
Mia: I wouldn’t look so smug, Kara. We have something you don’t. We have heard and determination.
Kara: Ha ha ha! Well, that’s a weak second to innate talent and tight routines, that’s for sure. See you later, Mia.
Mia: Ugh! She’s so smarmy. We’ve got to beat her in the next activity. Payton, what’s next on the agenda?
Payton: S-H-O-P! What does that spell?
Mia: Shop! We’re going shopping?
Payton: Well, technically, it’s a cheer WORKshop... but that’s nearly the same thing, right?
Requirements
You, Mia, and Payton walk to an outdoor area where a counselor is leading a seminar on cheering. A short time later, you split into your smaller school groups.
Danny: You heard the counselor. We have a little time to make our own cheer before we perform it in front of the group.
Mia: Let’s make a good one. I want to wipe that stupid smile off Kara’s face.
Payton: Yes! I can help! I cheer for no reason!
Mia: The counselor said a good cheer has three things: it’s short, it’s easy to understand, and it encourages the crowd to interact with you.
Danny: Sounds easy enough...
Mia: Then let’s start brainstorming!
Time - 14 hours
You write down Mia’s and Payton’s ideas...
Payton: ...and finally, we should talk about how we’re the best!
Mia: Well, that goes without saying!
Danny: I like it. Now we should write this up...
Payton: What kind of tone do we want to go for? Funny or serious?
Mia: Hmmm, I don’t know. It could be either. Danny, what do you think?
Danny: Let’s go for serious.
You finish writing your cheer.
Payton: This is so inspiring! Everyone’s going to be repeating it for days!
The counselor running the program gets the group’s attention. Hearst is called up to perform their cheer!
Kara: Hearst is the best! Better than all the rest! The other team must be poor... Because we’re going to wipe them all over the floor!
Kara and her cheerleaders step off the stage. There’s lukewarm applause from the camp counselor.
Payton: Did you see that? The counselor didn’t like Hearst’s cheers that much. It’s time for us to show them up!
You, Mia, and Payton step up and start performing!
Mia: Hey, are you ready? Are you ready to play?
Danny: Are you ready? Say, ‘go team’ because we’re here to stay!
Mia: Hey, are you ready? Are you ready to play?
Payton: Are you ready? Say ‘go team’, it’s us all the way!
The counselor applauds heartily, congratulating you on your solid cheer!
Payton: Yes! Eat that, Kara!
After the cheer workshop, you and Mia run into Kara.
Mia: What do you YOU want?
Kara: Nothing! I was just here to congratulate you on your little rhymes. They were really good.
Danny: Really?
Kara: Yeah. Of course if yo were actually in the big leagues, your cheers would’ve been horrible, but they’re pretty good for amateurs.
Danny: There it is.
Kara: Anyway, I mainly just wanted to come over and encourage you to put up a good fight against us in the cheer-off at the end of the week. We’ll win, of course, but I’m hoping you’ll at least be a close second.
She walks off casually, and Mia fumes.
Mia: She’s so full of it.
Payton: Yeah, well, we all knew that. Anyway, next up is free time! Manicures, anyone?
Mia: Payton, there’s no time for manicures!
Payton: Oh no! What are we going to do then?
Mia: We have to focus on cheering if we’re going to win against Hearst... meet me in the gym in ten!
Requirements
In the training center, you, Payton, and Mia meet up with the cheerleaders.
Mia: We don’t have much time before the cheer-off. If we want the opportunity to win that mystery prize, we definitely need to beat Hearst. And that means running the routine we’ve planned perfectly. Nothing, not even a HAIR should be out of place!
Sebastian: You got it, Mia!
Channing: Yeah!
Mia: Let’s do it!
The music starts, and the cheerleaders get into formation. Mia watches on from the front. In the middle of the routine, Mia stops the music.
Mia: STOP! That was terrible! Sebastian, that was the laziest layout I’ve ever seen! And Uma, what was with that flip?
Uma: It was... not my best...
Mia: No, it wasn’t. And not being on top of our game means we’re practically giving the prize away to Hearst! We need to tighten up our tumbles and sync up all our stunts! Once more from the top!
They run the routine three more times, Mia stopping the music sooner each time.
Mia: You guys are getting worse, not better!
Channing: We are?
Uma: I think that time was pretty good...
Sebastian: Hey, we’re trying out best here! Maybe you should actually het us finish the routine first.
Mia glares at the cheerleaders. You step up to her.
Danny: Hey, Mia... can I talk to you for a minute?
Mia: Take five!
Channing: Oh good, a break!
Mia: That’s FIVE sets of push-ups for all of you! Now, come on, Danny.
Time - 16 hours
You bring Mia aside.
Danny: So... what’s going on?
Mia: What do you mean?
Danny: You’re being kind of a... well, you’re being kind of a Kara. You’re yelling at all the cheerleaders. All of the criticism is making them so afraid to make a mistake that they’re too nervous to remember the moves!
Mia: Hey, it’s tough love. They’re only going to get better if they know how badly they’re messing up!
Danny: That’s not true. You know, a lot of people respond better to positive encouragement.
Mia: I guess the only model I have for this is Kara. She rules the Hearst High cheerleading squad with an iron fist, and it worked for her. No one dared to make a mistake. I guess I don’t know how to be different.
Danny: Well, for starters, we could use some positive reinforcement. Encouraging people can be more effective than pointing out what they’re doing wrong.
Mia: Okay... I’ll try it.
You and Mia find the other cheerleaders finishing up their set of push-ups.
Mia: Hey, guys, listen up. I have something to say. I’m... I’m sorry about how I’ve been acting. It’s just that this meet is really important to me. Not just because I want to beat Hearst and smack that smile off Kara’s face... but also because this is our chance. Our team is great. This is our opportunity for everyone else to see how far our school has come and to prove that we can compete with the best teams out there. I pushed you guys hard because I believe we have potential as a team and we can be great. But I am sorry about being so mean to you all.
Sebastian: Aww, Mia!
Channing: Thank you!
Uma: I love that you believe in us!
Channing: Yeah! Come on, guys, let’s run the routine one more time!
Sebastian: From the top!
The cheerleaders do the routine again, and this time, it’s much stronger!
Mia: Great work, everyone!
A few hours later...
Mia: All right, that’s it for the day! Great job, everyone!
Sebastian: Are you kidding? We can’t quit now! We want to win this cheer-off as much as you do!
Channing: Yeah, I’m pretty sure I have another couple hours of practice in me.
Uma: Let’s run it through one more time!
The cheerleaders keep running through their routine, working on their weak elements.
Danny: You really inspired them, Mia.
Mia: I guess positive reinforcement really does go a long way. We’ll do great tomorrow! Except...
Danny: Except?
Mia: Well, there is one thing... the evaluators in the camp have seen all our stunts before. If we’re going to set ourselves apart from Hearst and the other teams, we’re going to need something special that impresses them.
Danny: Like what?
Mia looks at the other cheer teams milling around. Kara give your group a fake smile.
Mia: Not here, Danny. Grab some more guys, and meet me in one of the private practice rooms.
Requirements
You, Channing, and Sebastian meet with Mia in a private practice room.
Sebastian: So what’s with the secret meeting? Is someone spying on our team? Or are we spying on someone else?!
Mia: No spying. But we are keeping this a secret. I told you that we need something special that sets us apart from other teams, and that is... A killer finishing move!
Channing: I hope you don’t mean that literally!
Mia: Ha ha, no, but I have an idea for it... it’s going to really wow the judges! I call it Mia’s Flippin’ Kicktwist!
Sebastian: Ooh... sounds fancy!
Mia: It will be! We just need to perfect it. Are you three ready?
Danny: Yeah!
Mia: And one, and two, and three!
Time - 18 hours
Mia: Let’s do it one more time! We’ve almost got it! Danny, when we toss you into the air, don’t forget to twist AND kick out! I know guys aren’t usually the ones being tossed... which is why if we can pull it off, it’ll look even MORE impressive!
Danny: You got it, Mia!
Mia: And Channing and Sebastian, make sure you’re there to catch Danny’s foot after that last twist!
Sebastian: Got it!
Channing: We’ll catch it!
Mia, Channing, and Sebastian toss you up high into the air! You twist several times, kicking your leg out! As you come down, Channing and Sebastian catch your foot, supporting you at the top of an impressive standing pyramid!
Mia: Perfect!
Later that night, on your way back to your room, you see that Mia’s door is slightly ajar. You push it open and find Mia sitting by her window, looking out at the lake.
Danny: Hey... is everything okay?
Mia: Yeah... things are fine.
Danny: Sometimes taking a little walk helps me when I can’t sleep. Want to head down to the lake?
Mia: Yeah... that sounds nice.
Requirements
You and Mia walk down to the lake. Mia bends down at the water’s edge, examining the moon’s reflection.
Danny: You’re worried about something, aren’t you?
Mia: What make you say that?
Danny: Well, for a cheerleader, you’re looking pretty short on cheer.
Mia: Okay, you’re right. Something is bothering me... It’s about me and Kara...
Time - 20 hours
Danny: So... what happened with you and Kara?
Mia: Well, at Hearst, Kara’s the most popular girl in school. When I was there, more than anything, I wanted to impress her. I guess you could say our relationship was... complicated. I admired her, and her opinion meant everything to me! I would’ve done anything for her. And she knew it. She used me like a pawn.
Danny: What do you mean?
Mia: Like I’d stay up all night perfecting cheers for her, or agree to the most dangerous stunts in the routine, or pick up her lunch at the cafeteria... I thought it meant we were close... but she never saw it that way. No matter what I did for her, no matter how hard I tried to be perfect, she was still mean and cruel, always making fun of me if I made the slightest mistake. It took me a long time to realize that I wasn’t her friend. She thought of me as almost like... her servant or something. Someone she could keep down so she could stay on top of the social pyramid.
Danny: But it’s different now, right?
Mia: I thought it was... I thought I’d moved on. Especially now that I’m not at Hearst. But being around her again, trying to compete with her and deal with her snarky remarks... it stirs up a lot of memories. Honestly, I don’t know how to feel. Maybe I still want to impress her... to get her to like me.
You give Mia a hug.
Danny: It’ll be okay, I promise. You’ve moved on. Kara doesn’t have any power over you anymore.
Mia looks deep into your eyes.
Mia: Thanks, Danny... when you say it, I almost believe it...
The next day, it’s time for the cheer-off! You, Mia, and Payton herd the cheerleaders towards the stage where a huge crowd of people has gathered!
Danny: I had no idea there would be so many people here.
Payton: Yeah! This is SO exciting! And a good part of that crowd is from our school! They came up to cheer us on!
Mia: We’ll be sure to give them a show!
Danny: So when is our group going on?
Payton: There’s one performance before ours...
Mia: Oh no... don’t tell me...
Payton: It’s Hearst.
Danny: Well, I guess we’d better go watch and see what the competition looks like...
Requirements
You and your group stand to the side to watch Hearst’s cheer performance.
Channing: I wonder what they’re going to do...
Uma: It won’t be as awesome as our team’s!
Sebastian: No way!
A fast beat and loud music pump through the speakers as Kara’s group twists and spins! Towards the end of the set, Kara stands in the middle and tells proudly.
Kara: It’s time for our final move! Get ready for this!
Danny: Uh, Mia... that formation looks REALLY familiar...
Mia: Oh no...
Time - 22 hours
Kara: It’s time for our final move! I like to call it Kara’s Flippin’ Kicktwist!
Channing: Uh...
Uma: Did I hear that right?
Sebastian: There’s no way...
Mia: She did NOT just steal my move!
From the sidelines, you watch in horror and fascination as Kara’s team performs the same move you practiced the night before!
Mia: That SNAKE! This is low, even for her!
Mia storms off angrily.
Danny: Mia, wait!
Requirements
Danny: Mia... are you okay?
Mia: It’s just like before... it’s just like how it’s always been!
Danny: No, Mia, it’s--
But she continues to talk over you.
Mia: Kara stole our move! She thinks she can just do whatever she wants, and I’ll just... I’ll just let her!
You can see she plans to keep going, and you need to get her attention. You start cheering.
Danny: S-T-O-P! What’s that spell? Stop! Stop, Mia, stop!
She pauses to stare at you, stunned.
Mia: What are you doing?
Danny: Getting your attention. Look, you’re not Kara’s pawn anymore. You’re different now. She may have taken our move, but that doesn’t mean you’re going to let her win!
Mia: You... you’re right! I’m not Kara’s lapdog anymore. I’m done caring about what she thinks... I’m done caring about HER!
Danny: So you’re saying...
Mia: I’m saying, I want to go take back our move. I spent a lot of years letting Kara push me around... now it’s time to push back!
Danny: You okay now, Mia?
Mia: Yeah. I can do this. We can do this.
Mia huddles the entire cheerleading team together.
Mia: All right, team, it doesn’t matter that Kara’s copied our final move... the rest of our routine is solid! We’ve trained long and hard for this moment! Everything we’ve learned we’ve put into this routine, and I couldn’t be prouder! Let’s get out there and win this thing!
Payton: Woo hoo!
Danny: Yeah!
The announcer calls your school onto the stage to start your performance! You, Mia, and the rest of the cheerleaders get on stage! The music starts, and you start dancing to the beat while the others flip and kick around you!
Danny: Go, fight, win!
The cheerleaders start pumping their fists, and the audience starts cheering with you!
Mia: Go, fight, WIN!
The music shifts, and you, Mia, and the other cheerleaders get ready for your last move!
Mia: This is it!
Requirements
You and Mia move into place, preparing for your final move.
Mia: Kara may have stolen this move from us, but we’re going to do it better! You ready, Danny?
Danny: Yeah!
Time - 21 hours
Mia flips you up into the air, and you fly high, turn four times, kick out with your legs, and land perfectly! The crowd goes wild as you pose with the other cheerleaders!
Mia: Danny, that was perfect! Great moves!
Payton: Good job, you guys! The judges are tallying up the scores right now. They’ll get back to us to tell us who won the competition!
Danny: I have a good feeling about this...
Mia: I don’t.
Payton: I’m going to go up to the judges and see if I can figure out which way they’re leaning.
Danny: Nice. Thanks, Payton!
Requirements
A short time later, Payton comes back to report.
Payton: All right, so... the judges are a little conflicted because our team and Hearst’s pulled the same stunt at the end...
Mia: Because Hearst cheated. AGAIN.
Payton: On the bright side, they liked the move so much that we’re competing for first and second place!
Mia: If I come in second to Kara, I’ll never hear the end of it...
Payton: Yeah, but all we can do now is wait...
Time - 23 hours
Payton: Okay! The results are in! The judges have come to a decision!
Mia: Out with it! What’d they say?
Payton: We tied!
Danny: Yay?
Mia: We tied?! What does that mean?
Payton: Well, in order to prove which team is the real winner and gets the mystery prize... It means that we’re going to have to perform an all-new routine a few weeks from now during our football game with Hearst.
Mia: What? Why then?
Kara: Because it’ll be more fun that way.
You spin around and see Kara behind you.
Kara: I talked to the judges about it. They want to see how well our teams do when the pressure’s on and when we’re both in front of a crowd. Good luck. Because you’re going to need it.
Can Mia and the cheerleaders face off against Hearst and win? Find out in the next quest!
- Have 4 Cheerleaders
Mia: All right! It’s time to leave for Cheer Camp! Get in the bus now, or we’re leaving you behind! Go, go, go!
The cheerleaders scramble to get into the bus. Mia spots you.
Mia: Hurry up, Danny! You’re a member of the squad now! Come on!

- A Level 6+ Cheerleader Except Mia (Sebastian)
- A Level 7+ Cheerleader Except Mia (Channing)
- A Level 7+ Cheerleader Except Mia (Uma)
- Mia
- A Level 6+ Guy Cheerleader (Channing)
- A Level 6+ Guy Cheerleader (Sebastian)
- Danny
- Mia
- A Level 7+ Cheerleader Except Mia (Channing)
- A Level 7+ Cheerleader Except Mia (Uma)
- A Level 7+ Cheerleader Except Mia (Sebastian)
- Level Mia
- Calm Mia!
- Danny
- Payton
